recipes I've tried this week

Crazy week again this week. We finally got our car back after not having it for a few weeks. It was off getting a new transmission. We got it back a couple days ago and guess what? Pablo took the car out yesterday and again the car went into 'safety' mode and the transmission light went on again. I'm speechless. I don't think I need to tell you how expensive a new transmission job is. Not sure what is going to happen now...

Pablo had the worst headache he's had in his life this week and had a trip to the hospital because of it. They pumped him full of morphine and prescribed a new migraine medication.

I'm changing groups at work and I'm really looking forward to the change. The work is more technical and very challenging. Still working on the same floor as my twin sister. Check out her style blog where I am photog. We take photos at work, next door to work, while we're off at lunch from work....

Kids are great and enjoying summer. Lots of visits to my parents pool. Another week of summer camp coming up at the end of August for both of them.

Got some cooking done this week and tried some new recipes. The first was A-MAZING - maple bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with rosemary cherry sauce. Definite keeper. Then again, anything wrapped in bacon is a keeper round here...

Next I made soup. I don't make soup very often at all. Not sure why. So glad I decided to try this soup - Italian sausage tortellini soup. We all loved it - even the kiddos!

The next dish I have been making for years and we love it. It's easy to make and takes no time at all to put together. I HIGHLY recommend it - flank steak with onions, peppers and beans. Too bad Martha didn't have a photo of the whole dish...and too bad I didn't take my own photo.

We are big cheesecake fans up in here so I am making strawberry swirl chocolate cheesecake bars.
