Thinking...

All four of us are at my parents' place right now and Isabella is just wired. She was about to do something bad and her father noticed and said, "Don't even think about it!"

"I think I will think about it!" was her witty response.

Oh the little monster...

My daughter the chia pet

This morning I was on my way upstairs after giving Simon his bottle and Isabella had just woken up and was heading down the stairs to find us. We all sat on the stairs (because I can't hold His Heaviness for more than like a minute without my arms wanting to fall off) and Isabella looks at me with her sleepy face and says, "Let's just sit here and talk."

So we chatted about her night being babysat by Zia Jenny and Zio Dave (her dad and I went to see the movie District 9 which we quite enjoyed). Simon took this opportunity to reach out and grab a giant handful of Isabella's hair. I pried his hand loose from her hair and he had taken a huge clump out. This happens all the time and I once again joke to Isabella about how one day she's going to lose all her hair because of Simon's infatuation with pulling it.

Isabella then says, "What we're going to have to do is, we're going to have to put some dirt on the top of my head and plant some seeds and then water it lots and then it's going to grow big and tall and then I'll have all my hair back!!!

Yup. So that's how hair grows according to Isabella. I told her we'd get started planting after breakfast. LOL!

I DID IT!!!

That was the first thing Isabella said after using the potty just now. It was then followed by:

I POOED! OR PEED! WAS IT PEE? OR POO? MAYBE IT WAS POO. DID I PEE? OR POO? POO? OR PEE?

OMG!!! (this was said by me - LOL)

She gets the two mixed up and never knows which one she has done. This causes alot of confusion since she always needs to discuss her bathroom moments with whoever is in the room - even if you don't really want to hear it. Doesn't matter to Isabella. If you are within earshot you had better pay attention to her and show a whole bunch of enthusiasm or else...

Play areas

Playdate

A couple of my old friends from high school came by and they each brought their 2 kids. 6 kids under 7. It was crazy and fun. After everyone had left I told Isabella what a good girl she had been.

"No I wasn't. I took stuff away from people." she replied.

Morning kiss

I was having my shower this morning and Isabella came in to say hello (she had just woken up). I peeked my head around the shower curtain and puckered to get my morning kiss from her.

She looked at me hesitantly and said, "How about if you get out of the shower, get dried off, THEN I will give you a kiss."

So she made me wait...

In unison

Isabella was sitting at the table with me while I fed Simon dinner. Her and I were sharing ice cream and Simon couldn't take his eyes off us (and the ice cream). I gave him a tiny bite and boy was he not expecting it to be that cold. His eyes bugged out of his head and his legs and arms shot out straight...and he LOVED it. Not the first time that he has had ice cream (thanks mom!).

The look on Simon's face while he ate the bite of ice cream was so funny that at the exact same time Isabella and I called him a 'goofy nut'.

Isabella then looked over at me and exclaimed, "Mom, we are just hilarious!"

Youngest blogger ever?

I was at the kitchen table feeding Simon and Isabella came to sit at the table. She had a pad and pencil in her hand and she sat down and started writing. She looked up at me and said, "I'm writing a post for Zia Kim's blog!" (Zia = Aunt)

I had to call Kim at work and tell her this one...

She's 'the man'

I came out of the bathroom this morning and noticed Isabella walking around with a baseball cap on and her hands on her hips. I asked her what she was doing.

"I'm being silly like a man!" was her reply.

Simon in motion

I've never seen a baby roll around as fast as he can. And now that he mastered the art of rolling he has decided to perfect the art of going from laying down to sitting and vice versa.

This morning after his nice and early 6am bottle, I put him in his crib on his stomach and left the room. He babbled to himself for a good 45 minutes and I went in there to see what the heck he was doing and he was sitting up staring at the wall. No wonder he wasn't falling asleep!

Cuteness

Isabella walked up to Simon (who was sitting in his highchair) and squeezed his cheek and said, "Ohhh, you're so friggin' cute!"

Right before bed tonight Isabella hugged Simon and said in her sweet voice, "You're the best baby in the whole world."
Isabella then gave me a hug and kiss and I said, "Awww, my gorgeous girl."
She then gave me another kiss and said, "Awww, my gorgeous mommy."

And I am so darn proud of myself - both the babes were fast asleep by 8pm! WOOHOO!!! (pats herself on the back)

Colourful kids rooms from sköna hem

If only their site was in english...but I love it just the same.

More teeth!!!

Simon has a third tooth up top that has pushed through. Only signs of a tooth coming were a tiny diaper rash, a bit more grunting (out of discomfort?) and a WHOLE lot of shoving his hand in his mouth. A fourth tooth appears to be on its way as well.

YAY BOY!

(And he still holds the title for the best baby ever!)

the boo and the boy

No more 'lullaby and goodnight'. I'm loving the new site name since it is named after my munchkins. If any of you out there notice anything that is not working with the blog please leave me a comment.

Thanks!

Technical Difficulties

I am attempting to switch this blog to a new domain name and I have no clue really what I am doing so for the next little bit there may be some technical difficulties.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

The Management :)

UPDATE:
I am actually getting somewhere with this!

the new url is: www.thebooandtheboy.com

When I first started this blog, the purpose was to post photos of kids rooms. Now since I post alot about my kids, I wanted the blog to have a more personal title/address. Isabella is nicknamed 'the boo' and of course Simon is 'the boy'.

I'm still working out some technical kinks so please stand by (hard to do this home alone with the kids...).

Birthday dinner

Last night I was on the way out to my birthday dinner.

Isabella gave me a big hug and said, "Bye mom. Have fun at your birthday dinner!"

Then she turns to her father and said, "Take Simon!"

Toilet training - day 3

Only one accident in the last three days and it was awful. A runny #2. Enough said.

I can't believe how well Isabella is doing...easy peasy for her.

I just asked her if she needs to go pee and she said, "I said no, mommy. No. Alright?"

I might have just asked her 10 minutes ago...oops!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday...

to my twin sister Kim (okay and me)! Kim posted these photos on her blog some time ago and I'm reusing them since I don't have any...

Toilet training

We're working on it yet again and there's no going back. We started yesterday around noon and Isabella has yet to have an accident!!! (She did wear a diaper at night though). She is doing great although I think my questioning whether she needs to go every ten minutes is driving her nuts (she has even told me so). So I am trying not to pester her very often and wait till she asks to go. I'm so proud of her!

UPDATE: she just pooped in the toilet too! YEEHAW!
