recipes I've tried this week

white chocolate blueberry muffins - pinch of yum

These white chocolate blueberry muffins are a HUGE hit in our house. I have made them every Sunday for the last few months. The kids can't get enough of them.

cranberry & white chocolate brown butter cookies - clockwork lemon
To be honest, I did not make these cranberry cookies this week. I took a break from making them because these too, I have made every Sunday for the last few weeks and we need a break from these heavenly cookies. Again, the family is obsessed with them. Definite keeper which is why I wanted to mention them.

brown sugar toffee bars - brandy's baking
These toffee bars I made last Sunday instead of the cranberry cookies for something different. They were delicious. Not too sweet, just sweet enough. Another keeper.

chicken fajita salad with cumin lime dressing - chicken recipe box
I know it was starting to look like all I make is sweets so now some dinner recipes I tried for the first time. The fajita salad above worked well for our family - the kids don't eat salad so they had the fajita part in tortillas while we had it on lettuce. This turned out quite well. I'd say a 4 out of 5.

cheeseburger casserole - skinnytaste
This casserole was yummy except according to Isabella who hates pasta. Even though she doesn't like pasta (weirdo), I have to make it at least once a week or else I go into withdrawals. This scored a 4 out of 5.

korean beef bulgogi - can you stay for dinner
This beef bulgogi was so freaking yummy. The marinated flank steak was mouth watering good and I love anything in a tortilla. For the kids I left out the salad part and turned them into beef fajitas (added cheese and salsa). They missed out though because this was 5 stars.

sweet & spicy bacon chicken - diary of a recipe addict
5 freaking stars. DELICIOUS. And the pan sauce over mashed potatoes...heavenly. This is going to be made again and again.

maple syrup pancake muffins - joy the baker
I just finished making these muffins. I've made them before and they are fantastic. 5 stars. The kids love them and bring them to school.

chocolate cookie dough brownies - recipe girl
I have a really good reason for making these brownies. You see, I treat myself to Häagen-Dazs peanut butter and chocolate ice cream when it is on sale at our grocery store (I refuse to pay $7 for a little tub of it). BUT, the damn ice cream hasn't been on sale in weeks and it's killing me. Today, I got fed up when again my beloved ice cream wasn't on sale, so I made these brownies instead. I'm not sure how they taste as I am waiting for the brownie part to cool so that I can put the cookie dough part on top. They better be good. LOL!

(all recipes above are in my food boards in my pinterest)

  1. You are KILLING me! Good thing we live far apart or you'd have to keep an eye on the back door, where I'd be trying to sneak in and steal your delicious treats!

Hey, I've been making these Korean short ribs in the slow cooker along with the slaw. Gabe eats them as tacos but we just pile the meat, slaw and cilantro on top of salad greens and squirt lots of lime juice. De-lish! And so easy since it's in the slow cooker. Here's the link--maybe you'll like it!

I wish we lived closer too. I think the kids would really get along too.

  5. I love brown sugar toffee bars! They are soft, rich, chewy and sweet with a crunch to them. If you were planning to make these bars, I suggest you use a thick, creamy base and adding Olpers fattening butter really helps to make it the ultimate indulgence. It is hard to forget the taste brown sugar and toffee together along with little salt from the butter.
