Kid shelving - part 5

Kid shelving - part 1 here. part 2 here. part 3 here. part 4 here.

A couple more new things...

I often complained that I didn't have a picture of my grandmother (my 'Nonna'). She passed away in August '05 - 2 months before we found out we were pregnant with Isabella. I miss her terribly and I SO wish she could have met my kids...

My parents gave my sisters and I each a photo of our Nonna for Christmas:

Isabella and Simon each got a Christmas ornament with their names written on it...also from my parents:

Nominated!!!

Kim just sent me an email to tell me that this blog was nominated over at Apartment Therapy for their Homies 2009 contest - Kids At Home category. A big thank you to 'bandas' for the nomination! No surprise that Desire to Inspire was also nominated and came in 7th place. DTI rocks as always and I know this isn't the first time that I've said how extremely proud I am of Kim and Jo for their kick ass blog. Big thanks to everyone who stops by here!

(Totally unrelated - I was supposed to be at work today but I am SOOOOO sick with the flu so I am home attempting to rest...)

Still learning her colours...

A few days ago, I started watching the Oprah at the White House Christmas special. As soon as it came on, Isabella shouted, "OH LOOK! It's Barack Obama! He lives at the Green House!"

Not bad for a 3 year old Canadian!...after a few minutes of laughter I corrected her.

Christmas 2009

Oh what a Christmas it was! The one major downfall was that both kids were sick - especially Isabella. She was up most of the night Christmas Eve with a fever and woke up Christmas morning feeling pretty awful and unrested (ditto the unrested part). Despite being sick with a bad cold, Simon was his normal cheerful self (thank goodness!). As it turned out, I didn't take that many Christmas photos of Isabella due to the fact that she was miserable/whiny/crying/snotty most of the day. Anyway, here is a collection of some of the photos taken on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Soon to come...photos of the Christmas gifts!

Had to make a little tear in the paper then Simon went to town!

Simon opened up this sock donkey then started cuddling with it. He then lay down on the floor to cuddle with it some more.

This photo depicts Isabella's Christmas spirit PERFECTLY!

Now onto the Christmas Day photos...

Here Isabella and I are helping Simon open his stocking

Isabella realized the stocking was all for Simon and left us alone

Happy holidays everyone!

This first video features Isabella on Christmas day - 2007. She was almost 18 months old.

The next two videos were taken Christmas Eve last year. Simon was 7 weeks old and Isabella was 2.5 years old.

Phone etiquette

Isabella was on the phone with my sister Kim, chatting away when she said, "Hold on a second."

She put the phone down and took a drink of her milk. She got back on the phone and said, "Sorry about that!", and continued talking.

So polite!

She's learning...

This morning Isabella was being sarcastic with Pablo. He was about to scold her and got as far as to say, "Don't..." when she cut him off and said, "I'm not being smart with you!"

Taffy Lane

There is a street in our neighborhood that goes all crazy with christmas lights (Taffy Lane) so we decided to drive by last night with the kids. Simon was asleep as soon as we left our driveway and Isabella was bouncing in her seat in excitement. We get there and Isabella kept saying things like, "This is just amazing!" and "Gorgeous!".

We stop in front of this one house that had a bunch of reindeer out front and Isabella said, "Wow! Look at all the goats!"

Teehee. Pablo and I couldn't stop laughing.
