How I love him so

Simon has been really sick with a wicked stomach bug for the last few days. He hasn't kept anything down - not even water - for over 30 hours now. I feel so bad for him. Pablo is on his way to the pharmacy to speak to our pharmacist on what we can do to help Simon get over this bug.

A couple weeks ago, there was a family dinner at my parents' house. We were all hanging out in the kitchen when I noticed that Simon was missing. I went searching for him and couldn't believe where I found him:

This is the nursery at my parents' place - where Simon and my niece Gianna have their naps. Simon grabbed the little wicker chair from the corner and put it next to the crib. He then managed to hoist that play stroller in there, his sippy cup and himself. When I found him, I yelled for everyone to come see what Simon had done and my sister brought her camera. Once everyone came into the room, Simon refused to look up at anyone because he thought he had done something bad. He's such a cutie patootie.

I hope Simon gets better soon because I miss the fun-loving, healthy, energetic Simon. Nothing worse than seeing your kid sick and not being able to do much to help them.

Here is a photo of our little sicko having a morning nap in our bed:

  1. That's hilarious! A serious cutie!

When I was sick, or I should when I am sick and have a hard time eating, the one thing that works for me is dipping a spoon in honey and licking that for a while :)

  3. He's a problem solver! I hope the pharmacist helps. Did they have that Emetrol stuff? Do they sell it there? It doesn't have any active ingredients but it helps soothe the stomach.

  4. Thanks Bon! I'm going to try giving Simon a bit of honey before bed.

Thanks Hollie. He got sick again just before dinner. Probably because I let him have a bit of milk. All my fault.

The pharmacist gave Pablo some motion sickness medicine and then some pedialyte. The motion sickness stuff seems to work well. I had to mix some pedialyte with apple juice in order to get him to take it. We'll see if tomorrow is any better than today. If he is still vomiting tomorrow then we have to take him to see the doctor. Not sure what Emetrol is...will have to keep that in mind.
