new jewelry wall

It has been driving me crazy that I don't have my jewelry well organized. I've been wracking my brain for a solution to this problem and then it hit me - I would use the vintage printer tray that I have to hold alot of my smaller pieces of jewelry and antlers to hang longer pieces. I had been using the printer tray to hold Simon's matchbox cars but it was too hard for him to keep them in there so it rarely got used. I spent HOURS adding brass cup hooks by hand to most of the little boxes that I could squeeze my fingers into. The ones I couldn't add a hook to would be used to hold pieces sitting at the bottom, ie. rings. It was alot of work but I am so happy with the end result. I have about a dozen antlers at home too that needed a purpose so two of them ended up being perfect for my necklaces.

Here is my new jewelry wall in our master bedroom:

    1. I nailed one of these things into the back of the tray, at the top where the wood is thick:

then I put a screw in the wall to hold the weight.
